The consumer confidence index decreased to 63.38 in December

The consumer confidence index calculated from the results of the consumer tendency survey carried out in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute and Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey decreased by 8% compared to the previous month. The index became 63.38 in December while it was 68.93 in November.

The financial situation expectation of household index decreased by 4.1% compared to the previous month and became 85.40 in December. This decrease resulted from the decrease in the ratio of people expecting better financial situation of household in the next 12 months period.

The general economic situation expectation index which was 95.06 in November decreased by 9.5% and became 86.02 in December. This decrease shows that number of consumers expecting a better general economic situation in the next 12 months decreased compared to the previous month.

The number of people unemployed expectation index decreased by 8.3% compared to the previous month and became 65.42 in December. This decrease stemmed from the decrease in the ratio of people expecting a decrease in the number of unemployed persons in the next 12 months.

The probability of saving index decreased by 17.9% from 20.33 in November to 16.68 in December. This decrease shows that the possibility of saving of consumers in the next 12 months period decreased compared to the previous month.
