Foreign trade indices increased in volume, decreased in unit value in February 2016

The overall export unit value index decreased by 8.6%...

As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall export unit value index decreased by 8.6% in February. In the same month, compared to February 2015, the index for "food, beverages and tobacco", "crude materials (except fuels)", "fuels" and "manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco)" decreased by 11.4%, 9.8%, 42.5% and 6.9%, respectively.

The overall import unit value index decreased by 16.2%...

As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index decreased by 16.2% in February. The index for "food, beverages and tobacco", "crude materials (except fuels)", "fuels" and "manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco)" decreased by 11.3%, 19.2%, 43.5% and 7.6%, respectively.

The overall export volume index increased by 10.9%...

The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 10.9% in February. Compared with February 2015, while the index for "crude materials (except fuels)" decreased by 2%, the index for "food, beverages and tobacco", "fuels" and "manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco)" increased by 13.9%, 37.4% and 13.1%, respectively.

The overall import volume index increased by 9.7%...

In February, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 9.7%. The index for "food, beverages and tobacco", "crude materials (except fuels)", "fuels" and "manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco)" increased by 5.5%, 4.5%, 1.6% and 11%, respectively.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index increased by 12.8%...

The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index which was 125.2 in January 2016, increased by 12.8%, to 141.2 in February 2016. The calendar adjusted export volume index which was 127.2 in February 2015, increased by 7.2%, to 136.4 in February 2016.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index increased by 7.5%...

The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index which was 123.4 in January 2016, increased by 7.5%, to 132.7 in February 2016. The calendar adjusted import volume index which was 114.3 in February 2015, increased by 7.4%, to 122.8 in February 2016.

Terms of trade was 114.8 in February 2016...

Terms of trade is calculated by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index, then multiplying the result by 100. While terms of trade was 105.3 in February 2015, it was 114.8 in February 2016.
