Judiciary and the Business World symposium was held

Prominent business leaders of Turkey participated in a two-day symposium titled "Judiciary and the Business World".

The event organised by Ministry of Justice was held on November 21-22 in Istanbul.

Business leaders underlined the importance of a well-functioning judicial system and urged for a robust reform agenda to maintain confidence in Turkey's economy.

President of the Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen's Association's (TÜSİAD) Cansen Başaran Symes, President of Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Rıfat Hisarcıklıoğlu were among the speakers.

"Whenever people have confidence in others and in institutions, economic activities run much better and fairer. As long as such confidence is not established, economic growth or stability cannot be sustainable," said Hisarcıklıoğlu.

Symes talked about the need for extensive reform to the judicial system, saying that having a stable and predictable judicial system is a sine qua non to attract investment to the country.
