İstanbul International Financial Center project has a significant role in making the Turkish economy reach its strategic targets. All stakeholders, and particularly the financial sector, must adopt this project so that it can be realized with a sound infrastructure as soon as possible, and İstanbul becomes the indisputable center of the region and a leading actor of the global financial network.

Within the framework of the Capital Markets Law no. 6362, re-structuring the Turkish capital markets and institutions as effective and efficient markets capable of responding to the developments in the international markets, Borsa İstanbul, which was converted into an organization offering trading of capital markets instruments under a single roof, is one of the leading actors of Istanbul International Financial Center project. Efforts within this framework are in progress.

Borsa İstanbul is the pillar of Istanbul International Financial Center project, and in addition to numerous activities, it realizes the forum series entitled “İstanbul: Regional Hub, Global Actor” in important centers of the world economy for continuous promotion and presentation on a global and local scale. The Forums are organized with the participation of senior managers from a wide range of sectors, including the government, private sector, international financial institutions, investment companies, think tanks, non-governmental organizations, and national/international media; display the opportunities and competitive advantages of Turkey; and contribute to realizing this project.

A significant component of becoming an international financial center is promotion. Istanbul International Financial Center Initiative views it a priority to make the private sector adopt Istanbul International Financial Center project, and towards this purpose, acts in cooperation with national and international organizations to include the private sector in this process.

Within the framework of Istanbul International Financial Center project, Istanbul International Financial Center Initiative (IFC-I) aims to announce the developments in the Turkish economy as well as the other efforts as part of this project, and create and strengthen positive perceptions and attitudes for İstanbul. Istanbul International Financial Center Initiative supports the governmental policies through the rich content it has created on İstanbul and the financial sector, including written, visual and auditory material, and offers visibility to the project by efficiently using both traditional and new media.
